Theatre of the Oppressed NYC (TONYC) has a work space in midtown Manhattan, with one large, private office space available to rent.

  • Size: 700 square feet

  • Rent: approx. $3,000/month including utilities

Are you a theatre-related non-profit organization (with 501c3 status or fiscal sponsor)? Looking for quiet office space, accessible 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, smack in the middle of the city, in a space dedicated to theatre?

Theatre of the Oppressed NYC, the owner of the unit, partners with community members at local organizations to form theatre troupes. These troupes devise and perform plays based on their challenges confronting economic inequality, racism, and other social, health and human rights injustices. If your work involves community-engagement or social justice too, you'll feel right at home!

There is access to a communal pantry and one gender-neutral bathroom that renters share with TONYC. A security deposit of one month's rent is needed to move in.

TONYC is also open to a dedicated desk rental option with organizations/artists that align with their mission and values.

The rates for desk rentals:

  • $250/month for a dedicated desk

  • $25/day (invoiced monthly)
